This privacy policy explains how I, Olga Tymofiyeva ("I", "me", "my"), collect, use, and protect personal data when you visit this website (olga-tymofiyeva.com) and/or subscribe to the "Gratitude" newsletter via the signup forms on the /gratitude and /flowers pages.

I am based in Portugal and am responsible (the "data controller" under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, "GDPR") for the personal data described below.

1. What data I collect

When you sign up for the newsletter, I collect:

  • Your email address
  • Your name (if you choose to provide it)
  • The date and source of your subscription (e.g. which page you signed up from)
  • Technical information generated when you interact with the newsletter, such as whether you opened an email or clicked a link

2. Why I collect it

I use this data for one purpose: to send you the Gratitude newsletter that you have signed up to receive. I do not use your data for any other purpose, and I do not sell or rent your data to third parties.

3. Legal basis for processing

I process your data on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by submitting the signup form. You can withdraw this consent at any time (see "Your rights" below).

4. Who has access to your data — Mailchimp

I use Mailchimp (operated by The Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA) to manage the newsletter and store subscriber data. Mailchimp acts as a data processor on my behalf.

Because Mailchimp is based in the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US. This transfer is made on the basis of the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF), under which Mailchimp is certified. I have a data processing agreement in place with Mailchimp, as required under GDPR for the use of a processor.

5. How long I keep your data

I keep your data for as long as you remain subscribed to the newsletter. If you unsubscribe, your data is removed from active mailing lists; Mailchimp may retain minimal records for a limited period for legal and anti-spam compliance purposes, in line with its own retention policies.

6. Cookies

This website does not use cookies for advertising.

7. Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data I hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time (every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link)
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — in Portugal, this is the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados), www.cnpd.pt
